Charges

 

Charges - all ex VAT - i.e. add on 17.5%

Normal visit charge within the practice area is £25.00 for horses, £20.00 for farm work. No extra charge for out of hours visits.

1/2 visits (£12.50) for clients in Kelso and Morebattle, and for "shared visits" - dealing with two or more owners in the same yard.

Charges as follows:

£25.00 to examine a horse

£75.00 to examine and scope

£75.00 to examine and scan

£80.00 to X-ray horses (or more if a lot of pictures)

£50.00 for prolonged examinations (eg) difficult lamenesses

£150.00 to £200.00 for examining for purchase (Vetting)

£25.00 for flu and tetanus vaccination. Certificate and injection included.

Our drug pricing system is similarly transparent - 50% mark up on small quantities "out of the boot" , 10% on all drugs to Contract Farm Clients, and 7.5% mark up on drugs in "parcels" of £500.00 or more, paid cheque on delivery. (We'd remark here that it doesn't need to be a very big farm to need drugs in that sort of quantity over a season - it's just a matter of forward planning to get the discounted price.)
