Urs and Sabine Schaeli have now been here for two years; they're settled, they like it and we all get on together. Urs and Sabine are both vets - graduates of University of Leipzig, Germany, 2000. They have two little girls so Sabine is only working part time at present.
Urs' family were dairy farmers - originally in Switzerland then in Illinois, USA; they sold up and retired last year. So Urs has long term farming experience and he understands farmers. Urs has been overwhelmingly involved in large animal practice since graduation; and he is now eager to build up the farm side of this practice.
To bring Urs up to speed with horses he has been on the Level One and Level Two horse dentistry courses, and carries a complete set of routine tooth tools. He also now has a Flexifloat - this is the new state of the art electric tool - see pictures. This kit is American we were the second people in Britain to buy one. Apart from the dentistry courses Urs has now been on courses in Lameness in Horses, Diagnostics in Equine Medicine, Equine Cardiology.
